Anza-Borrego Desert State Park didn’t offer wildflowers during my visit, but it gave me something equally meaningful. In the absence of a super bloom, the desert revealed itself in dramatic skies, subtle color tucked into sage and cactus, and unexpected pockets of life hidden within palm-filled oases. This collection is about noticing what remains when spectacle is stripped away.
